Independence

Venue rankings on this site are not for sale. No venue has paid to appear higher in a list or to receive a more favourable review. If a venue ever sponsors content, that content will be clearly labelled "Sponsored" and will not be counted in any ranking or recommendation list.

How We Verify Venues

A venue's page goes through three stages:

  1. Research: We compile publicly available information from official venue websites, social media, Google Maps, and third-party listings. At this stage the page is marked "Pending verification" and is not indexed by search engines.
  2. Verification: We call the venue or visit in person to confirm address, hours, phone number, and pricing. The "Last verified" date on the page is updated to reflect this.
  3. Review: After an in-person visit, we add a scored review covering sound, rooms, song library, food, service, and value. We clearly distinguish between our own experience and summaries of public reviews.

Scoring

Scores use a 1–5 mic-icon scale across six criteria. A score is only published after a confirmed in-person visit by a named editor. "Not yet rated" means we have not visited.

Banned Phrases

Our style guide prohibits exaggerated marketing language — superlatives implying uniqueness, over-the-top praise, and breathless hype. We describe what we found, not what we wish we had found. If you notice language that sounds like an advertisement, use the "Report outdated info" link on that page.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error, contact us or use the "Report outdated info" link on any venue page. We aim to review and correct verified errors within 48 hours.

Lounge Review Policy

For KTV lounges, we review the room, sound, song library, food and drink packages, pricing, cleanliness, service, and safety. We do not publish information about hostesses, GROs, or companion services of any kind.
